Planting Flower Seeds In Your Back Yard Garden
If you plan on planting seeds in your home garden. There are a couple things that you should keep in mind. Make sure the soil is warm enough for proper germination and if spring rains do not supply enough liquid that you water your young seedlings.
Many flowers need six hours of full sunlight per day. You must prepare the earth to receive your seeds. Till the earth to a depth of six to 8 inches and amend the soil with the manure, peat moss, and a time released fertilizer.

If you're planting bed is along a wall or fence. Remember to plant the tallest flower seeds in the back.medium height ones in the middle, and of course, the shortest ones in the front. If you happen to be planting your flower bed in the center of your yard. Place the tallest plants in the middle and ring shorter plants around them.
If you plant your seeds directly in your yard use as many as three times what the package recommends. Birds, insects, and the wind will claim many of your seeds.
After your seeds sprouted, wait until four to six sets of true leaves have formed, and then thin them to the desired spacing and follow the recommendations on the seed packets to get the proper distance between plants. Once your flowers are in bloom, remembered to snip off older blooms. This will cause the plant to grow new blooms and keep your plants producing long into the season.
